CTMH Art Philosophy bag in Dotty For You

Do you have a Cricut?  If so, the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge is a must have!  Since I got mine, I haven't taken it out of the machine.  It has been the only cartridge that I've used in months!!  It does so many different and wonderful die cuts.  In the past, my cartridges have been have been themed oriented, so that once I've used them for the project that I bought it for, it sits collecting dust.  Which really is a waste of money.  The CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge changed that for me.  I love that it makes cute little gift boxes as well as tags, letters and seasonal shapes.

Yesterday, I had so much fun hostessing a meet up at Atlanta Bread Company here in Asheville, NC.  I showed my guests how to make adorable mini albums out of a manilla file folder.  Check out the post about those here: File Folder Mini Album

As a thank you for coming, I made them these cute little gift bags using paper from the CTMH Dotty For You paper pack.  I cut the bag shape out at 5 1/2". Then the dimensional flower at 3".  I used the half circles that were left over from the handle cut outs and glued them under the flower as leafs.  That's it!  2 shapes cut out from this cartridge made these fun little bags.  I then filled them with mini chocolates, because chocolate is a very important part of scrapbooking!!

The Art Philosophy Cartridge also comes with 3 coordinating My Acrylix stamp sets, as well as 3 sheets of coordinating Dimensional Elements for just $99!  Click here to have this amazing collection delivered to your door:

Happy Fall Ya'll!

As you've read in the previous post, I LOVE fall!!  Since Saturday is the first day of Autumn, I was inspired to make these Fabulous Fall cards with paper from the Close To My Heart Avonlea kit (Item # X7155B).

Happy Fall!

I have gotten so many cute projects from this one paper pack!  It is so very versatile and I've really enjoyed the beautiful patterns and colors.  For these 2 cards, I used my paper trimmer to cut out a 9" x 6" rectangle out of cardstock.  Then I folded them in half to make the card bases.

"Harvest Happiness"

For the "Harvest Happiness" card on the left, I cut a 4 1/2" x 3" rectangle of B&T (Background & Texture) patterned paper.  I made pennants by hand using strips of B&T and cardstock then using scissors I cut a triangle out of one end.  Then I anchored the pennants using a piece of the decorative strip from the edge of the 12 x 12 paper.  I cut the leaf and oval shapes using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and stamped them with images from the Harvest Happiness My Acrylic Stamp Set (Item # C1463) using Chocolate and Black inks.  I also inked the edges of all my papers before adhering them.

"Fall!"

For the "Fall!" card on the right, I used the same Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut out three 2" leaf shapes, two circles and a small tag.  I anchored the leaf shapes with another decorative strip from the edge of the B&T paper.  To embellish the tag, I used a piece of hemp, the letter "F" from the Color Ready Canvas Alphabet (Item # Z1777) that I inked with Slate and stamped the "all!"  with Glamour Lowercase Alphabets (Item # D1522).  Finally, I used three Opaques gems from the Mocha packet (Item # Z1333) to add a bit of bling.

I hope that you will be inspired to create a bit of "Harvest Happiness" in your life today!  Thank you so much for checking out my blog and allowing me to share a bit about myself with you today.

Blue Ridge Parkway Adventure

On the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia!
Hello friends!  Last week my husband and I had a great adventure driving the Blue Ridge Parkway from the milepost 0.0 outside of Waynesboro, VA back to our home in Asheville, NC.  We had a wonderful time seeing the beautiful scenery, stopping at yummy off the beaten path restaurants, and taking some time to learn about and admire the history along this great American roadway.

Mabry Mill

The Brinegar Cabin built by hand in the 1880's
Autumn is my favorite season and this trip got me in the spirit of the season because the weather was cool and crisp and the leaves were showing just a hint of the color that they will be changing to in just a few weeks.  I even had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks last week!  Soooo good!!

Speaking of pumpkin...I'm looking for a recipe for Pumpkin Bread.  I've got a can in my pantry that is calling out to be made into something moist and tasty that will pair happily with a cup of coffee.  If anyone has a one to share, please leave a link in the comments section.  My tummy thanks you in advance!

Have a wonderful day!

Try This Fun Stamping Technique!

Close To My Heart has published a new video this week called "Clearly the Best: The Swipe Hype".  It highlights the fun technique of swiping a stamp over your ink pad which will add motion and texture to your image when it is stamped on your artwork.  This works best with solid images and allows you to be even more creative when stamping!  Try this interesting technique on your next project and see why CTMH stamps are Clearly the Best!

I'm inspired by the cooler temperatures here in NC so I've been working on a few Fall greeting cards using the Avonlea paper packet from Close To My Heart.  As soon as I've finished, I'll post the pictures here.

Don't forget this Friday, 9/21 is our Scrapbooking meet up featuring a class on making your own file folder mini album.  I still have one more spot available!  Check out my Meetup.com page to register:

Close To My Heart Pemberley File Folder Mini Album

Guess what this album is made of?  Yup, a plain old manilla file folder!  Can you believe it?!  I love to take a basic item and recycle it into an easy to make and pretty project.  I had some left over paper from the CTMH Pemberley Paper Packet (Item # X7148B) and embellished it with stickers from the coordinating Pemberley My Stickease Assortment (Item # X7148C).  All that's left is to add some photos and journaling.  Click here to order the gorgeous Pemberley Paper Packet:  www.createwithcare.ctmh.com
